What we don't.
reComposeAI is a photography coaching app. This policy explains what data the app touches, where it goes, and what it never does.
The short version
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not show ads.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not create user accounts or collect your email, name, or contact info.
- We do not store your photos on our servers.
- Your coaching history lives in your iCloud account — never on our infrastructure.
Photos and AI analysis
When you take a photo and request AI coaching, the photo is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our backend proxy, which forwards it to our AI provider (Google Gemini, accessed via OpenRouter) for analysis. The AI returns coaching feedback, which is shown in the app.
We do not store your photos on our backend after the response is returned. Per OpenRouter's policy, image inputs are not used for model training. Your photos remain in your iPhone's photo library under your control.
What the app stores in iCloud
The app saves your coaching session history to your personal iCloud account using Apple's iCloud Key-Value Storage. This includes a profile of your photography (strengths, growth areas, style tendencies) the app builds from your sessions, text summaries of past sessions, and counts of completed sessions.
This data is encrypted by Apple and synced across your devices via your Apple ID. We have no access to it. You can clear it at any time from inside the app, under Settings → Reset memory.
What our backend logs
Our backend proxy runs on Cloudflare Workers. To prevent abuse, Cloudflare temporarily logs your IP address, request timestamp, and rate-limit counters. These logs are kept for short retention windows (typically under 7 days) and used only to enforce rate limits and investigate abuse. We do not link these logs to any user identity.
Third parties involved
We do not use any analytics SDKs (Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.), advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting tools that transmit personal data.
Children's privacy
reComposeAI is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Your rights
Because we don't store data on our servers, there's nothing for us to delete on request. To clear all app data:
- Open the app → Settings → Reset memory (clears profile and session history).
- Delete the app and disable iCloud sync for it under iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and note the change in the app's update notes.
